Are the computer rooms in ETH main building (HG Zentrum) for MTEC students accessible on weekends?

    The computer rooms in the ETH main building are open on Saturdays from 7am to
    3.30pm, on Sundays and public holidays the building is closed.

Where do I get programs for students from (most for free)?

    The homepage to download sophisticated programs and products (eg. MS Office,
    Matlab, Adobe Photoshop) - most of them for free, if you use your n.ethz login –
    can be found here

Are there any residence halls for foreign students or how can I find an apartment from abroad?

    There are no residence halls as you may know it from universities in your
    country. However, there are two commisions dedicated to provide rooms for
    students in Zurich area. For exchange students that might be a convenient way to
    already have a place to stay upon arrival. To find out more please refer to their
